If you look closely, you will notice that the wooden spoon is broken. I believe that is the forth wooden spoon A. has broken on my backside (and I really liked cooking with that one!). You will also note the lack of welts from the cane. Since I'm on Coumadin, A. uses the cane with light but rapid fire strokes that accumulate pain quickly (sheer agony, I tell ya!) but don't leave the deep bruises for which canes are notorious. Similar to the way Nurse Bea uses a nursery willow switch in this story that my dear friend Casey wrote just for Natty.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the cane looks like the LEAST objectionable of those implements! Congrats on breaking the spoon. It always (all one time) makes me feel macho to emerge victorious when an implement is destroyed. *g*

BTW, Randy likes to apply the cane just as you describe. We have a short model for precisely that purpose. His goal, he says, is to slowly raise the heat level (before moving on to other toys). I can attest that it definitely works!

As for the wooden spoon, I have made it clear that the wooden spoon I use for cooking is to be used for absolutely no other purpose. Those things almost invariably break when used in the bedroom, and we own a total of one wooden spoon and one cooking spoon that don't hurt my hands.
Well, sadly, I lurk more than I comment. Mostly because (like today), I'm only getting around to reading people's blogs an entire week after they wrote them, when the conversation is done and gone. (Do you like my grammar today, hm?)
Bah.
Anyway, happy LOL day. I do read faithfully, even though it's sometimes 2 or 3 posts at a time. :)

It has been translated into French, and then some people gave it a sequel about diapering (which I don't like that much).
