Sorry to be so quiet of late. Most of my energy has been going toward my non-kink blog, but there have been things I've been meaning to post about here. Like the funny episode of "Everybody Hates Chris" in which he gets suspended from school and is sent to his room when he gets home to wait for his father. Chris Rock explains that meant he was getting a whipping and then describes in a tongue-in-cheek fashion that his father had a glass case in which he kept all the different belts he used for different offences like lying, stealing, getting a girl pregnant and doing drugs (that one was complete with mini gun holster). It totally made me laugh.
A. never uses the belt as punishment for me anymore because he knows I actually like it. And I do. When it first hits my skin, it hurts. But then in a half a second it turns into a very pleasurable sensation. Don't even get me started on the scrap strap (you have to scroll down) from Adam and Gillian's. Mmm...so nice. Well, except after I've been caned. Then...ooof! Boy does it stings!
And speaking of punishment, I've been meaning to post some thoughts on that too. While my spanking mojo is back (well, more or less) my punishment kink is not so much. I'm still working on my thoughts about that though, and I'll probably post that over at the Punishment Book when I do. Don't worry, I link to it from here.
As far as my health is concerned, bad news on that front. The clinic called last Thursday and -- aaarrgghh! -- I have another UTI. Despite all the cranberry juice, cranberry concentrate, and antibiotics, I still got one (and yes, I do know about mannose-d and have used it, but it's only effective for e.coli bacteria and my infections are usually caused by other bacteria). Well, at least they caught it before it got very painful so my mojo hasn't been as affected as before.
Which will hopefully mean A. and I will get to play a bit when he comes in five weeks or so. He's buying the plane ticket this week.

mmm... I also love a good belt, not a good deterrant if you are actually having fun :)
As someone who is prone to UTIs I can understand your frustration. not fun. I take a vitamin called Cranstat that seems to help a bit, that and lots of blueberry juice (which I find much more enjoyable than cranberry)
Hope it clears up soon!
Strangely enough, I don't think I've had more than a casual smack or two with a belt since I've been an adult. I do like that kind of sensation, though, quite a bit (perhaps on a day when I'm feeling more peppy, I'll write about my self-spanking days, which generally did involve a belt....)
Sorry about the infection. (Knock wood) I'm not prone to UTIs or other lower-body infections. Mine tend to stick around my head (strep throat, ear infections, abscessed teeth).
On *that* front, I've been utterly amazed at the power of garlic pills. We were in D.C. last January, on a weekend, and utterly without access to dental care, and I had a bad tooth flare-up. Horrible, horrible pain. I frantically thought of all the OTC anti-bacterials I could, and decided on garlic. Took huge doses... and within 2 days, the pain had abated, and within a week, the abscess had gone away. And it stayed away, too. Sure, when I took high doses, I stank to high heaven, but it was very much worth it.
Sending you some good, healthy vibes!
Heya brat:

::grin:: Indeed.
You know, I've seen Cranstat but I guess I thought it was just another cranberry concentrate formula. I took another look online and there are a few more things in it so if it's not too much more expensive than the cranberry concentrate I've been buying at Trader Joe's I might get it instead.
I actually quite like cranberry juice. It has tannins like wine so I pour it into a wine glass at night to give my Meals on Wheels a more elegant touch. ;)
Hiya dyke grrl:
You know, I never got the belt at all as a child but it was the first implement I got as an adult. And when I'm really desperate when A.'s gone, a few self-administered whacks can really hit the spot. (pun soooo intended)
Yeah, garlic is brilliant. I used to get respiratory infections all the time but now I just brew some of my special cold/cough tea blend and make some super garlicky hummus (8 or so cloves to one can of chickpeas). I can't think of the last time I've had a full blown cold. A. and I are both big believers in the culinary tradition of "there's no such thing as too much garlic" though he's amazed that I'll still take my garlic pills after a particularly garlicky meal. I may even try directly inserted garlic for the yeast infection that medical science cannot seem to get rid of.
Hmm...er...tmi there I suspect. :-S
Abscessed teeth -- oof! That's one area in which I'm really lucky. The most serious dental procedure I've ever had was when they put sealants on my back teeth in high school. And it's a good thing too because I'd soooo be a big whiny wuss. The thought of a drill gives me the creeps.
